How to look after your children's teeth during the school holidays

Yes today is National Refreshment Day!   Who knew?!   We certainly didn’t until now!   So enjoy your refreshments today everyone.  I hope at the time of reading this you are enjoying a nice warm sunny one – tempting to reach out for that glass of wine, that pint of lager, or that G&T!

Did you know how much sugar is in these and other alcoholic drinks you might be tempted by:

Red wine: less than 0.5 of sugar per 175ml glass (most pubs serve  250ML glass as standard these days)

White wine: 0.5 teaspoons of sugar per 175ml glass (most pubs serve 250ml glass as standard these days)

Bottle of Bulmers Cider: 5 teaspoons of sugar in 1 bottle

Pint of Stella Artois: 0.5 teaspoons of sugar per pint

Gin and tonic: 5 teaspoons of sugar

Baileys Irish Cream: 1 teaspoon of sugar in every 25ml serving

The World Health Organisation (WHO) currently recommends no more than 12 teaspoons of sugar daily in everything you eat and drink.

Enjoy alcohol responsibly.
